Start Here
A Pilot Rise Discovery Flight is a 30-minute introductory flight lesson with a certified flight instructor in Dallas or Fort Worth. Sometimes called an Intro Flight or Introductory Flight, it has a standard price of $150 in either the Cessna 150 or Cessna 172. The current Dallas Executive special is shown above when available.
It is a good fit if you are brand new to aviation, comparing flight schools, buying a gift for a future pilot, or trying to understand what Private Pilot training would actually involve before committing. If you are already comparing programs and budget, you can also review our Courses, the Cost Planner, and Financing before or after your flight.
What Is Included
The goal is to give you a useful first look at flying and the training process, not overwhelm you with aviation jargon.
Meet your instructor, talk through the aircraft, and get a plain-English overview of what to expect before you fly.
See how pilots inspect the aircraft before each flight and learn why safety habits start before engine start.
Once airborne, your instructor can let you take the controls and experience basic aircraft control under supervision.
After the flight, ask questions about cost, timelines, aircraft choices, scheduling, financing, and the next step.

I highly recommend Pilot Rise. Jordan Connors is an amazing instructor. He explains everything in a way that is easy to understand and grasp. Every lesson is filled valuable information and is a great experience.

Great school. Great instructors. Good safe aircraft. I finished up PPL with Carson, he is very knowledgeable. All the other instructors there have been very helpful and made it fun! I highly recommend this flight school.
