Feeling stuck in your flight training or facing issues with your instructor?
Here, we outline common problems that might arise during your flight training and provide ways to address them effectively.
Hit a Plateau?
It’s normal to feel like you’re not progressing at times. Here’s what might help:
- Discuss alternative techniques with your instructor.
- Temporarily switch to a different phase of training.
- Review the basics.
- Consider flying with a different instructor.
- Use our BATD simulator for additional practice.
Experiencing Excessive Cancellations?
Cancellations can occur due to weather or necessary maintenance. Here are some strategies to mitigate this:
- Fly in different aircraft types if available.
- Opt for different times of the day to possibly face fewer cancellations.
- Different seasons have different weather. In the summer and fall, thunderstorms are usually in the afternoon, so scheduling for the mornings help. In winter and spring, there are usually low clouds in the morning, so afternoons are usually better.
Struggling to Get on the Schedule?
This could be due to limited aircraft or instructor availability. Solutions include:
- Booking flights well in advance.
- Flying with different instructors to find more flexible scheduling.
- Watch for cancellations for last-minute openings.
We typically put potential students on a waiting list if we are booked to capacity to accommodate our current students. Or we will add more aircraft.
